I’m a printmaker and amateur potter based in Victoria B.C. Canada. You can check out my work in different mediums in the gallery below. Please note as of May 2019 I am giving the site a spring clean, so please bear with me as it gets updated.
Intaglio: a printing process that uses an etched or engraved plate; ink is applied to the surface and then wiped clean. When the plate is run through a printing press with dampened paper, the ink left in the recesses of the plate transfer to the paper and create the print.
This is where I post photographs of my pottery and process.
Some of my pottery progress, for those who don’t instagram.
Some graphic design projects
This is a great activity with or without kids. Lots of layers and colours. (And mess).
Silkscreen: Ink is forced through a mesh screen onto paper or fabric. The mesh can be blocked by various methods (e.g. paper stencil) and the ink will only pass through where the mesh is left open.
Lino cut is a form of Relief Printmaking: areas of a block or plate are removed by carving or etching. Ink is applied to the surface with a roller and the inked block is applied to paper.
A very small and random selection of photographs.
One day I will do more painting.
Older prints, mostly made while I worked at New Leaf Editions
I am currently teaching printmaking classes at the Arts Centre at Cedar Hill.
